Clearly Zinq® Tinted SPF 45 Mineral Body Gel Sunscreen

skin type (dry), tone (G9 glossier skin tint): Love this product. Melts beautifully onto the skin, giving me a radiant glow. Moisturizing, I use this both on the face and body (if I am going to swim) otherwise only for the face as it does stain clothing.

I really liked the way this sunscreen blends to the skin.But their are tiny grainy particles which hurts while applying this to the face.I am really disappointed.

I see that a number of people have indicated that this sunscreen leaves a shiny finish. For me, Sonrei Clearly Zinq Tinted Mineral Face and Body Gel Sunscreen looked dewy rather than shiny, and actually felt kind of moisturizing on my skin. I gather that this sunscreen is supposed to negate the white cast that can invariably result from the mineral formulation of some sunscreens. The novel gel texture and faint tint have succeeded in making that white shade disappear.

Personally, I adore this sunscreen. I usually use Elta MD or Biore Sunscreen (any of several formulations; yes, I KNOW they are chemical and not mineral) and have for decades. My facial skin looks pretty good, and I wear sunscreen EVERY DAY, regardless of whether I go outside in the sun or not. I will happily add this to my rotation of sunscreens. It feels very good on my skin. The texture is a gel; it spreads cleanly over my skin, and I can layer makeup over it with no pilling. My complexion looks bright and glowy with this sunscreen. I even skipped luminizer because this sunscreen was so dewy underneath the makeup.

After cleaning off the makeup, my skin feels good and moisturized after wearing this. I will definitely repurchase!

For reference, I am South Asian and have a medium-dark skin tone that leans warm and is fairly dry and sensitive. This sunscreen looks great with a first application on dry skin (light gel moisturizer in the summer or light lotion in winter or just waking up without washing face and applying). I can hardly tell it's there and blends in well with my skin. If I apply it over a heavy moisturizer, however, or don't let the underlying moisturizer set, then it sits on top of it and just never sort of settles. Also, upon one or two reapplications, it can look shiny and give off a slight white cast. Overall, I love the light, spreadable formulation and tint though and would recommend for dry-skinned individuals or oily skinned individuals maybe without a moisturizer. It also looks great on the body but the color does transfer so be careful with that.
